I've finished the almost final draft of Edith Cowan, and the ladies might be interested to know that she wore a black and white outfit, with no hat, when she was sworn in as the first female MP in any Australian parliament. The parallel was made with Lady Astor, the first female MP in the English speaking world when she was sworn in in 1919. She also wore black and white with no hat. What were the reporters thinking of? Surely something more important than that was going on. Didn't they know how sexist that was? And how demeaning? And then they went on to list all of the women in attendance that day, ... AND WHAT THEY WERE WEARING!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND THEY DIDN'T DESCRIBE WHAT THE MEN WERE WEARING!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AND EDITH COWAN DOESN'T SEEM TO HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT IT!!!!!!!!!!!
