One of the pleasing things about the illustrations in the Aussie Notables series, based on the characters on our Australian bank notes, is that they are historically accurate. it would be easy to just draw a vintage or veteran car, but it is much more authentic to find the exact car that Banjo Paterson drove in from Sydney to Melbourne. Likewise, trouble is taken to come up with realistic caricatures of people who appear in the book, like Breaker Morant, Henry Lawson or Miles Franklin.
